Aggies win in New Mexico!!!

Watching Aggie football is one of my favorite pastimes, and we were graced with their presence here in Albuquerque on Saturday as they played the UNM Lobos. Margie and I had heard over a year and a half ago about this game, so we were eagerly awaiting for this opportunity since neither of us had seen a live game in at least 4 years. The Ags had only played UNM once before back in the 1920s, so this was certainly a rare but welcome occasion for us. We started out the day at noon, tailgating with the ABQ Alumni club where we were able to squeeze in a little pre-game yell practice with who else…the yell leaders. I think this moment (captured in the picture below) may have been the highlight of the day for Margie.

There were a lot of old Ags there, one of which was sporting his aggie maroon Corvette.

On to the game. We had purchased tickets with the Alumni group and we ended up on the west side of the stadium near the south end zone. So, all remaining pictures were taken from this vantage point, and I made good use of my telephoto lens. I was really surprised how close I was able to zoom in on some of the plays, especially those near the south end zone. I really didn’t even need to crop that many of the images. I burned up about 2 gigs on my memory card, but here’s just a few of my favorites. Click on any of the pictures orclick here to see a gallery of about 40 of the “better” pics.
