severe weather in SE NM…

Northwest flow aloft always seems to do it. Sure enough, Monday July 6, northwest flow aloft was strong and provided enough speed and directional wind shear for supercells in eastern New Mexico. After issuing a tornado warning, we (NWS ABQ) confirmed a report of a funnel cloud with a SKYWARN spotter near the Lincoln and Chaves county border. Later, news media reported an actual tornado, but the exact location and time of this report have yet to be confirmed.
